Kenya- Nairobi County to Build Centralized Oil Tankers Parking

 The Nairobi County government is committed to constructing a centralized tanker parking and marshaling yard in the city, aimed at ensuring safety in handling of petroleum products.   This is under the Legal Notice No.9 of 2011, which gazettes the aforementioned area as a Protected Area.   The county government will bring the Kenya Railway on board, to cede ground for land in the vicinity of the construction of the project.... Tanzania Reach Gas Deal With Dangote

 Dangote cement and Tanzania have come to an agreement on the supply of natural gas to the firm’s manufacturing plant in Tanzania after negotiations stalled over prices.   The 500 million dollars cement factory which is located in Mtwara was set up last year with an annual capacity of three million tonnes, runs on expensive diesel-generators and has sought government-support to reduce costs.   The plant was shut down.... Zarara To Begin Lamu Offshore Drilling

Oil Discovery in Kajiado is God's Blessing Says Lenku

An exploration process is set to begin in the village of Kajiado’s Inkokirding’a after the discovery of gas in the region last week.   George Igunza, A Senior Geothermal Development Company geochemist made the announcement on Tuesday; he also revealed that a gas sample from the borehole at a farm in the Kipeto plateau had undergone analysis successfully.    The analysis revealed the presence of pure methane gas.... Kenyan offshore patrol vessel handed over

 Bangladeshi shipbuilder Western Marine Shipyard (WMS) has handed over the offshore patrol vessel MV Doria for Kenya's Ministry of Fisheries, Livestock and Agriculture at its facilities in Bangladesh, and will sail it to Kenya at the end of this month.   The handover ceremony on 13 August was attended by Bangladesh’s Finance Minister Abul Maal Muhith and Managing Director of WMS Sakhawat Hossain, at the company’s shipyard.... Nock eyes buyers of Nairobi oil terminal

National Oil rolls out cooking gas initiative

 National Oil has kicked off the pilot phase of its cooking gas distribution and marketing project dubbed Mwananchi Gas in 17 counties. The programme, which started a year ago, is being implemented at a cost of Sh5 billion. It is aimed at getting more households to use gas as their preferred means of cooking. Government trains 349 Kenyans in oil exploration

 The Government has trained 349 Kenyans in oil exploration over the past four years, according Devolution Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri. In a speech read on his behalf by Fisheries Principal Secretary Japheth Ntiba Micheni at a conference in Kakamega, the CS said the training cost Sh480 million. Tullow Strikes More Oil In Kenya

 Tullow Oil has announced a find in the Emekuya-1 oil well in the South Lokichar basin in the northwestern part of the country.
